MEETING DATE:  October 18, 2009

 

Opened the meeting with a moment of silence and the Serenity Prayer

 

SECRETARY REPORT:  Submitted by:  Sue

D.C.M. REPORT:  Submitted by:  Bill

            ~Separate report

            ~Talked to Becky about booth at county fair

            ~If chairs need manuals, Bill has them

            ~Jeff reported on survey whereby average contribution is $1.00 per

              person per year.  Birthdays a good way to contribute.  We will bring

              this information to group meetings.

ACTION COMMITTEE REPORTS:

            CPC/Public Information:  Submitted by:  None

            ~Ed nominated Erik as alternate chair, Becky seconded.  Erik accepted,

              said he will be here for meetings or send report

            ~Erik reminded chairs they are reimbursed for duties but not travel to meeting,

              see the local group

            ~Bill reminded chairs to use their budgeted money

            ~She has new contacts in Fergus Falls, volunteers in Otter Tail

            ~Going to Pine Manor, and to Ogema although it is out of the district

            ~Bell Hill did not call back

            ~Suggested requesting names from groups, give information to Jeff

            ~Robin volunteered to speak at prison womens groups

 

            Round Robin (RR) Chair Report:  Submitted by:  Carol

            ~Has four months of Round Robins scheduled, will check on web site

              for previous months                 

 

            Webmaster Report:  Submitted by:   John was unable to attend

            ~Ed will work with John regarding web site

           

G.S.R. REPORTS:

            ~Mike G, Friday Noon Group, Detroit Lakes - Excellent group participation,

              12 Step meeting first Friday of month, discussed reciting Lord's Prayer at end

              of meeting as may be losing people, finances are stong and steady

            ~Gary, Smokey Hills - Summer people gone south, good core group of about

              12, went to Fall Assembly and reported

            ~Carol, OT Thursday Night - Great attendance, topic meetings, have new

              structure and have officers, some old-timers started a Monday night meeting

            ~Lyle, Wadena Birthday Nite - Meetings are picking up

            ~Becky, Formers group, Detroit Lakes - Steady attendance, open speakers

              meetings and potlucks well attended, many newcomers, attempting to develop

              prudent reserve

            ~Dave:            Elizabeth - 2-3 people, Joe & Charlie tapes, also Phil Hansen

                                    Battle Lake - 5-10 people, Joe & Charlie, Friday night

                                    Underwood - 15-20 People, open topic

                                    Erhard - 5-10 people, Wednesday night

            ~Erik, Suit Up & Show Up, Wadena - 3-6 people, focus on solutions from Big Book

              and steps, give Big Books to newcomers if they want one

            ~Patti, Perham Solutions - Core group members are consistently attending the

              meetings, groups slowly growing.  I went to Fall Assembly and voted for area

              chairs per groups' wishes, meeting commitments to Fergus Falls halfway house

              and Drake Counseling in Detroit Lakes          

 

OLD BUSINESS:  None

 

NEW BUSINESS: 

            ~Northern Lights will bring order to your group if order is large enough

            ~Becky asked about birthday contributions - groups get credit but must

              enter group name and number

            ~Bill will e-mail the list (73 pages) of meeting groups in the district as requested

            ~GSO must also be supported, see pamphlet supporting traditions
