            *Contacted local libraries, they all carry the Big Book

            *Talked to Lake Counseling regarding pamphlets

            *Bring to attention of schools and hospital e.r.'s

            *Will figure out budget amount after finding out how many of what expenses

              are involved

 

            Treatment Chair Report:  Submitted by:  Gloria

            *At assembly she was given a list of treatment centers

            *Regarding Fergus, she wants to have steering committee meeting before

             district 3 meeting

 

            CPC (Cooperation w/Professional Community) Report:  Submitted by:  Dave

            *There is a workshop in Alexandria in July

            *Otherwise, no new news

 

            Corrections Chair Report:  Submitted by:  Jeff

            *Otter Tail County youth probation group - they want Corrections Chair to

              set up orientation for parents and inmates

            *Got minimum security call, they are interested.  Will continue calling people on list

            *There was some discussion regarding mileage, reimbursement for attending meetings

 

            Round Robin (RR) Chair Report:  Submitted by:  Steve

            *Explanation of Round Robin:  it is an open meeting where all groups come together,

             Patti said it is similar to an open house.  when a decision is made about where and          when it is to be, consistency is needed

            *Steve said there was no further activity.  District 4 holds the district meeting just     before the Round Robin - that's one idea

 

            Webmaster Report:  Submitted by:  Gary

            *He has nothing to report at this time

            *Bill said he would like to get the calendar going

            *Ed would like the e-mail relating to the webmaster chair to be sent to Gary rather

              than him (Ed)

             1st meeting - 3, 2nd meeting - 6, 3rd meeting - 8, 4th meeting 11.  Promoting

             group in two men's halfway houses

 

            *Keith Ziemer, Fergus Falls Out to Lunch Bunch, Tue & Thurs noon

             Just opened checking account, average 10 - 15 people, topic driven, use

             24 Hour Book and Daily Reflections

 

            *Jeff, Pelican Rapids.  There is a meeting on May 28, 6:30, at the Perham Alano Club

             to work out orientation at the Otter Tail County youth probation

 

            *Steve W., Underwood, Monday night, 8:00

             15 - 25 people, topic driven, use Daily Reflections, 24 Hour Book, As Bill Sees It

 

            *Dave S., Elizabeth, Thurs, 8:00, Community Center

             ~2 - 3 people, use Joe & Charlie tapes, right now tapes of Phil Hansen (clergy who

             was director of treatment center at Abbott-Northwestern in Mpls.)

             ~ Battle Lake First Luthern Church, Friday, 8:00, 10 - 12 people, use Big Book and

                Joe & Charlie tapes

 

            *Gloria Waddington, Detroit Lakes, Farmers Group, every day and Mon thru Sat

             twice a day, use Grapevine, topics, Beginners, Big Book

             Numbers have grown to high 500's (total) noon meetings are still the heaviest.  Have

             meetings at the municipal jail on Sunday at 6:30 P.M. for men and women and a

             men's meeting at the minimum jail on Monday night.  Dick from Farmers Group

             had the information.  Have an open birthday meeting 2nd Saturday of each month

 

            *Erik M., Wadena, Suit Up and Show Up, Sunday, 8:00

             6 - 12 attend topic driven meeting., 2 - 3 young newcomers.  Gave them Big Books

             and lined them up with sponsors

 

            *Sue B., Fergus Falls, The Grapevine, Wednesday, 10:00, Alano Club

             4 - 5 people, volunteer picks topic, story from The Grapevine as topic for the

             next meeting

 

            *Patti  D., Perham, Perham Solutions Group

             ~Mon., 8:00, topic meetings, about 34 people, excellent

             ~Tues., 5:00, Joe & Charlie tapes and discussion, small - 6 people

             ~Wed., 7:00, Big Book study, 30 people including Stepping Stones (women) and

               Rewind (men) halfway houses in attendance.  Taking steps to get people from the

               halfway houses more involved in the discussion.

             ~Thurs., noon, women's topic-study, well attended, about 16 women, quality of topics

               for discussion has improved

             ~Sat., 9:30, topic, well attended (about 20 people), mostly from Big Book

                         

OLD BUSINIESS

            *George asked for budget amounts from those who have not yet submitted them

            *Bill passed on to the GSO the way the group, at the last meeting, decided on each

             issue

            *Bill also stated that the budget handed in from each chair is usually increased by              about

             15% to cover price increases and incidentals

            *Karen brought up the subject of the Red River Valley county fair booth, with PPI and

             Correctional chairs combined.  After some discussion, Ed stated that with the charge       for the booth itself and the insurance costs, it was probably not really a good idea

             to pursue the idea at this time and it was so agreed

            *Re:  visiting meetings around the district, those remaining were divided up by George,

             Bill, Dave, Steve, Jeff, Patty, Gloria, and Erik

             

NEW BUSINESS:

            *Jeff talked about orientation for youth, will be ordering materials and wants to

             consolidate orders, to get minimum to save on postage.  George stated there is a

             basic delivery charge of $15.00.  Ed will call Northern Lights to see how much is

             available there.  Jeff will check around, maybe going back to Perham.

            *Discussion re having a telephone number for callers to contact district office, Ed

             volunteered to get infrormation on the different possibilities nd bring to the next

             meeting.  Karen will check into getting things set up.
