Opened the meeting with a moment of silence and the Serenity Prayer

            ~No activity this month

            ~Ending balance:  $2,229.23

            ~Submit expenses, check will be mailed

D.C.M. REPORT:  Submitted by:  Bill

            ~Spring assembly will be April 3 and 4, 2010, at The Old Holiday Inn

            ~JoAnn was to be here, not ready.  Combining with District 4

            ~Service workshop in Perham was May 16.   Attendance was low in spite

              of active promotion of event

            ~June 6 is Zonal Forum in Cold Spring, June 7 is Area Committee meeting

              in Aitkin

            ~Other events are on flyers and website calendar

            ~2009 Regional Forum is in St. Cloud on September 11,12,13

            ~Elections for DCM, chairs, secretary, treasurer, etc., in October.  Those who            

              did not serve full terms may wish to serve again or in different position,  Try to

              bring new people along

            ~Jeff - suggested possibility of combining some committees, chairs need to

              meet and all work together  and bring ideas about handling positions

 

            Corrections Chair Report:  Submitted by:  Jeff

            ~Detroit Lakes, Otter Tail, Wadena - all doing okay

            ~Has AA Corrections Facility video 

            ~He has paperwork for contacts

 

            Round Robin (RR) Chair Report:  Submitted by:  None

            ~Please submit information for all events so they can be posted on the calendar

 

G.S.R. REPORTS:

            ~Erik, Suit Up & Show Up:  6 - 8 steady members, solutions from Big Book, promote

              sponsorship, phone numbers, meeting lists and Big Books to newcomers

            ~Gary, Toad Lake, Smokey Hills:  lots of long-term sobriety, 12 members and more in

              summer, present treasurer very ill - working with new one

            ~Becky, Former's Group:  steady attendance - total of 594 attending at all April

              meetings, active in service, potluck for all prior to open meetings on second

              Saturday of the month

            ~Derek, Ask It Basket:  had visitors from treatment center, trying to find a good time for      roundup, attendance usually in 20's but was low last week, elected new treasurer

            ~Patti, Perham Solutions:  all groups consistent about attendance, doing well in staying     on AA topics, discussing a change in our commitment

 

OLD BUSINESS:

            ~June 7 is Area 35 Committee meeting, 9 a.m, Aitken Alano Club

            ~GSR school stayed within $220 budget

            ~Treatment chair is filled

 

NEW BUSINESS:

            ~Jeff has had helpline for 2 months, Becky will take over after one month

            ~Is committee needed for Detroit Lakes spring assembly 

            ~GSR school not well attended, discussed best way to promote events, etc.

            ~Discussed whether October 17 or 24 would be better than in September and

              Detroit Lakes would be the best place for the event

            ~Discussed if better to have name or local speaker, then talked about name

              speaker as a draw and then a local speaker.  Bill will call Earl Hightower
