MEETING DATE: August 16, 2009

Opened the meeting with a moment of silence and the Serenity Prayer. Bill called for introductions.

~Beginning balance is 2253.49 and ending working balance is 1510.98

~Local group - pays mileage for GSR to attend meeting

~Helpline - Arvig charge is 1.26 again. We paid 50.00 in advance so carry a

credit balance

~Bill - important to claim expenses for reimbursement. Too much remaining is

misleading for next chair who may not be able to afford to pay for items

him-her/self. The budget includes event expense reimbursement.

~Still hard to find speakers. Those who do speak are very well received.

~Perham will give speaker list to Becky

~Jeff has brochure for "Temporary Contact" program

~At Fall Assembly - need to get program directors, match up with lists

~George - brochure on 12th stepping would help

~Treatment corrections workshop is night before Fall Assembly

~Need more volunteers

newcomers, had potluck at open speaker meeting, from NPR group in Fargo

~Elizabeth AA, Dave - 2-3 people, Big Book, Joe & Charlie tapes

~Lake Region Community Center, Dave - 5-10 people, Joe & Charlie, Big Book

~Underwood AA, Dave - 15-25 people, open topic discussion

~Detroit Lakes, Friday noon, George - Steady at 15-20, topic driven three meetings,

monthly step on first meeting of month, good contributions @ 2.00 each

~Perham Solutions, Patti:

Thursday, Noon, womens, 12 x 12, many women from halfway house

OLD BUSINESS:

~Out of time for district events, Bill unable to get special speaker

~Re New Years Eve: Jeff said mainly attended at Perham and Detroit Lakes, would

be good for groups to plan together and get many involved in discussion

~Discussion about having September meeting in Detroit Lakes, decided against this

NEW BUSINESS:

~Webmaster chair is open, John is interested

~Need to encourage people to come and get involved

Closed meeting with the Responsibility Pledge
